Craig-Hallum analyst Richard Shannon upgraded Nvidia to Buy from Hold with a price target of $255, up from $200 following the company's "strong" Q3 results. In a research note to investors, Shannon says raytracing, mid-range upgrades and nascent competition is helping Gaming, with better than expected inference sales helping DC, adding that continued improvement in inference suggests his earlier cautious thesis is too conservative. He thinks with higher earnings and valuation, the stock is likely to ride a strong cycle for a few quarters.

The firm adds that upside potential for AMD "appears limited at present."
