Stifel analyst Stephen Gengaro initiated Oil States with a Buy rating and a price target of $40. The analyst says the company offers exposure to "both the rising completion intensity in the U.S. land market as well as exposure to the potential recovery in deepwater infrastructure". Gengaro is also positive on Oil States' 2018 acquisition of GEODynamics, which will "help drive earnings and cash flow growth going forward."
