Stifel analyst Brad Reback said deals like Oracle's (ORCL) agreement to acquire Textura (TXTR) "always raise the question of who is next," adding that he is not surprised to see strategic M&A return broadly and for Oracle in particular to return to doing a deal. The analyst, who noted he has no knowledge of any M&A activity or discussions, said that he has "long suggested" a number of SaaS players, including Castlight Health (CSLT), Demandware (DWRE), ChannelAdvisor (ECOM), Paycom (PAYC), Paylocity (PCTY) and Splunk (SPLK), would make "nice tuck-in acquisitions" for Oracle. Reback has a $48 price target and Buy rating on Oracle shares.

Savitz writes in this week's edition of Barron's. Oracle continues to be a key provider of enterprise software applications and database software. Just this past week, the company announced new AI capabilities for some of its business apps. But the key driver for Oracle is now cloud computing-and the associated opportunity in artificial intelligence, the author notes. Despite a three-year rally in Oracle shares, the stock still looks cheaper on almost every measure than rival enterprise software companies, the publication adds. Reference Link
