Preliminary Class 8 truck orders for December fell 43% year-over-year to 21,300 units according to ACT Research, JPMorgan analyst Ann Duignan tells investors in a research note. This represents the second consecutive year-over-year decline in 2018 and a 25-month low on a seasonally adjusted basis, says Duignan. The analyst believes overall U.S. macro indicators for truck demand are mixed. The names she covers that have the largest exposure to Class 8 truck orders are Navistar (NAV), Paccar (PCAR), Cummins (CMI), Eaton (ETN), Wabco (WBC) and Allison Transmission (ALSN).
