Barclays analyst Jay Gelb upgraded Principal Financial Group to Overweight with an unchanged price target of $72. The analyst believes the valuation as become "overly compressed" and is attractive at current levels. Principal Financial is expanding its "strong global franchise" in the coming years in retirement solutions, investment management, and insurance solutions despite recent financial market gyrations, Gelb tells investors in a research note.
