Stephens analyst Farha Aslam noted that chicken, egg, and turkey exports had been temporarily suspended to Mexico from the U.S. since May 18 after a case of virulent Newcastle disease had been found. The newly agreed upon regional ban on poultry products from the city of Los Angeles is a positive for Pilgrim's Pride (PPC), Tyson Foods (TSN), Sanderson Farms (SAFM), Cal-Maine (CALM), and Hormel (HRL), said Aslam, but she notes the protein stocks had not traded down on the Newcastle news so she doesn't expect them to move up materially on the resolution.
