UBS analyst Steven Milunovich noted that EMC (EMC) just announced the launch of its all-flash, rack-scale DSSD D5 array, which is expected to deliver significant improvements in Input/Output Operations Per Second. Milunovich sees the launch as negative for other All-Flash vendors, particularly Pure Storage (PSTG), and added that the upside of recently announced or acquired products by Nimble Storage (NMBL) and NetApp (NTAP) are also reduced by EMC's new product. The analyst keeps a Buy rating and $30 price target on EMC shares, noting that he expects Dell's acquisition of the company to close.
