Longbow analyst Alton Stump said his checks with U.S. Burger King franchisees lead him to believe that same-store sales at the restaurants decelerated significantly over the course of the fourth quarter. The analyst, whose survey work points him toward comps being up 0.5%-1.0% in the back half of Q4 compared to being up 2.5%-3.0% in first half, said light comps from Burger King U.S. and Canada will be viewed negatively, especially if it raises concerns that demand for the Impossible Whopper is declining. He keeps a Neutral rating on shares of Burger King parent Restaurant Brands.
