BTIG analyst Gregory Lewis initiated Rowan Companies with a Neutral rating as part of his broader research note on offshore drilling service industry, saying the company was proactive in forming ARO - the Jackup joint venture with Saudi Aramco. The analyst is positive on the strategy as it "paves the way for contracted fleet growth and rig contracting opportunities", but views valuation of Rowan as "expensive", with its enterprise value to expected FY19 EBITDA multiple at over 100-times.
