Stephens analyst Ben Wyatt remains a buyer of Rice Energy as he continues to believe that the company is in a "good" position given its premier acreage position and midstream assets. The company announced an offering of about 29.9M shares of common stock, and intends to use the estimated proceeds of $327M to finance the Alpha Resources acquisition, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Wyatt says Rice Energy also announced a potential "stalking horse" asset purchase for about 27.4K net acres in Marcellus with about 23.5K net acres prospective for the Utica. The analyst reiterates an Overweight rating on the shares.
