Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Olson says Rovi (ROVI) has implemented a "standstill" agreement with Dish Network (DISH) and filed a lawsuit against Comcast (CMCSA; CMCSK) related to each company's interactive program guide patent license renewals. Olson says the company's 2016 outlook is unchanged, as it had incorporated incremental legal expense in the event that the renewals resulted in litigation. This may prove to be an "especially attractive" buying opportunity, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Olson has an Overweight rating and $29 price target on the shares.
