As reported earlier, BMO Capital Amit Sharma initiated Boston Beer with a Market Perform rating and a price target of $180 as part of his broader research note on Alcoholic Beverage industry. Sharma believes that despite the easier annual comps, the company's sales outlook may be at risk based on his broader thesis of continued weakness in beer/cider categories. The analyst notes that mainstream U.S. craft brewers will suffer, as the bulk of the recovery will be driven by small/local brewers and mega brewers.
