Morgan Stanley analyst Stephen Byrd said the California Public Utilities Commission's, or CPUC, vote to uphold solar net metering will allow for continued rapid growth of rooftop solar growth in the state. Byrd said the last-minute revisions make the final order even more constructive for SolarCity (SCTY) and Sunrun (RUN) than the original. The analyst said the decision de-risks the growth outlook for both companies and expects investors to re-focus on business fundamentals and execution.
