Wells Fargo analyst Timothy Conder views the CBS Whistleblower program featuring a former SeaWorld trainer as "a rehashing of old news" relating to Orca captivity. The analyst would note that all SeaWorld Orcas have been born in captivity, SeaWorld stopped breeding Orcas in 2016, SeaWorld has and continues to be overseen by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, Florida Fish & Wildlife Service, plus U.S./California OSHA, various Federal/state agencies contact SeaWorld to assist in animal rescues/rehabilitations, and OSHA no longer allows trainers in the water with Orcas. The timing of the program's airing could potentially be viewed "as questionably motivated" given the start of SeaWorld key June-September seasonal period, he contends. Conder does not believe the CBS Whistleblower "rehashing of old news" will have any material negative impact on company visitation and reiterates an Outperform rating on the shares.
