Susquehanna analyst Sam Poser attended the annual NY shoe show held by the Fashion Footwear Association of New York and came away more positive on a couple of shoe names including Steve Madden (SHOO) and VF Corp. (VFC). He also said he sees improvement at Nike (NKE) and remains concerned about Under Armour (UAA). The analyst said the standout themes included the importance of storytelling and authenticity for both brands and retailers, the importance of controlling the supply-demand model, and that comfort is permeating all footwear categories. Poser has a Positive rating on both Steve Madden and VF Corp., a Neutral rating on Nike, and a Negative rating on Under Armour shares.
