Northcoast analyst Jeff Stein's mid-summer survey of Independent Jewelers indicates negative momentum continues at Signet Jewelers. Of the respondents surveyed, 42% reported comp store increases compared to 53% last year, with promotional activity increasing modestly. Stein remains cautious on Signet's Q2 earnings release expected on August 25 as survey results continue to indicate category weakness and is one of several factors that could force management to lower guidance for the balance of the year.
