RBC Capital analyst Mitch Steves kept his Top Pick rating on Synopsys, saying his discussions with the CFO and head of IR indicate that the management would be disappointed if it missed its 26% margin target for the next 3 years. The analyst notes that the company's Semi IP business is seeing "positive trends" and its Black Duck software solution in tracking in-line with its plans. Steves adds that increasing chip complexity will continue to drive the demand for more software tools like those offered by Synopsys.
