Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas noted that Virgin Galactic has gained attention with its "extraordinarily strong share price reaction and volatility," but he believes there is further room for investors to appreciate the significance of upcoming human lunar missions and the way that the events leading up to putting humans back on the moon "can have a powerful impact on public and investor support." Numerous sources - including SpaceNews, Engaget and Ars Technica - point to May 7, 2020 as the apparent "working date" for the first human test launch of the SpaceX Crew Capsule, which Jonas said is widely seen as an important milestone to returning humans to the lunar surface as targeted by NASA by 2024. Jonas keeps an Equal Weight rating and $30 price target on shares of Virgin Galactic.
