Jefferies analyst Daniel Binder says he's not completely given up on the prospects of the Staples (SPLS), Office Depot (ODP) merger after the Federal Trade Commission sued to block the deal. It is possible the court does not find the FTC's case strong enough, Binder tells investors in a research note titled "Disappointing News But Not Over Yet." The market valuations factor in 0% probability of merger success, the analyst contends.
