Oppenheimer analyst Rick Schafer attributes the 15% selloff in Skyworks (SWKS) since the company's better than expected Q3 results on July to 23 to Apple (AAPL) sympathy, Qorvo's (QRVO) weak Q3 outlook and China-related handset inventory concerns. These data points contain little to be concerned about, Schafer tells investors in a research note titled "We Liked It At $110; We Love It At $89." Skyworks continues to enjoy content gains at top customer Apple, which represents up to 40% of its sales, the analyst points out. Further, the chip maker has never missed a quarter on China-related weakness, he adds. Schafer recommends using the pullback in Skyworks shares as a buying opportunity. He reiterates an Outperform rating on the stock with a $120 price target. Skyworks closed yesterday down $3.83 to $88.69 while Apple closed down $3.80 to $114.64.

The promise of AI has already driven a massive market rally. The irony is that Apple (AAPL), the company with more context about our lives than any other, has been left behind, Alex Eule writes in this week's edition of Barron's. Unlike Big Tech rivals Meta (META) and Alphabet (GOOGL), or the start-up OpenAI, it has yet to create its own large-language model. The switch to AI, to be sure, is more complex than making a larger-screen phone. But Apple's dominance hasn't changed. And that puts it at the center of any shift - real or artificial, the author says. Reference Link
