Cowen said they could not verify the reliability of the media reports regarding Symantec exploring the sale of Veritas, but said such a sale would represent a good outcome for Symantec. The firm said pre-separation risk remains and so it would be advisable to lock in a bidder soon. Cowen maintained its Market Perform rating on Symantec shares.
