OTR Global said Samsung will continue to use Synaptics' capacitive fingerprint sensor for the Galaxy S8 because yields for the under-glass optical sensor have been too low for mass production. The firm's analyst expects Synaptics' capacitive sensor dollar content for the S8 could be $2.00-$2.20 versus $2.50-$2.60 in the S7.
