Deutsche Bank analyst Myles Walton says Senator Warren's letter, while providing no additional information or accusations against TransDigm, formally asks that the Department of Defense "expeditiously open an investigation" and cites short seller reports relating to the company's pricing on parts. The delay in the release of the May 19 letter suggests that this isn't the most pressing of issues for the Senator, Walton tells investors in a research note. He adds that investigations like these mostly end with "benign outcomes." The analyst has a Buy rating on TransDigm with a $305 price target. The supplier of engineered aircraft components closed yesterday down 3%, or $7.15, to $262.78.
