Deutsche Bank analyst Adam Sindler raised his price target for Tractor Supply to $72 from $65 while keeping a Hold rating on the shares. The bull versus bear case are "very evenly matched," the analyst tells investors in a research note. Tractor has been unable to consistently stay in "beat-and-raise" mode, Sindler contends. He points out, though, that the company has "Amazon defensibility," profitable market share gains and little organized competition. The analyst is neutral on the stock's current valuation.

Barclays raised the firm's price target on Tractor Supply to $234 from $192 and keeps an Equal Weight rating on the shares ahead of the Q1 report. The company's core consumables still seems to be moderating, but potentially offset by seasonal drivers and gross margin strength, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm is not expecting any change in Tractor Supply's outlook.
