After Tesla (TSLA) on Thursday unveiled its Cybertruck on Thursday night, Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives says the starting price of $39,900 was "a bit of a shocker," as CEO Elon Musk previously hinted that the electric pickup truck would be more affordable than its main competitor Rivian, whose R1T pickup starts at $69,000. Ives tells investors in a research note that the most impressive part of the design is the "ultra hard" stainless steel alloy. He says the Cybertruck could help Tesla expand its market opportunity outside its core customer base over time, although gaining market share with Ford (F) and GM (GM) entrenched in this landscape will be a difficult task. The analyst keeps a Neutral rating and $270 price target on the shares.

Wells Fargo lowered the firm's price target on On Semiconductor (ON) to $95 from $110 and keeps an Overweight rating on the shares ahead of quarterly results. The firm anticipates On to deliver a Q2 guide slightly below expectations as it adjusts to Tesla-specific (TSLA) production softness specific to image sensor and SiC sales.
