As noted earlier, Stifel upgraded Twitter to Hold from Sell. Following Twitter's recent decline, Stifel continues to believe that the shares are overvalued, but predicts that the stock's next leg down may not occur for some time, possibly more than a year from now. Stifel says that Google may "have some interest" in buying Twitter, but the firm doubts that Google would buy the social media company at a premium to its current levels. Stifel adds that Google would not want to boost Twitter's business if it was looking to buy the company.

The U.K. plans to hold talks this month with Apple (AAPL), Meta (META), Alphabet (GOOGL) and others to push a voluntary charter granting parents more control of social media use by young teens, Bloomberg's Ellen Milligan reports. According to people familiar with the matter, ministers want to launch a consultation later this month to gauge ways of limiting the potential harm to children caused by social media, and the proposed voluntary charter may involve tech firms agreeing to alert parents when their children are repeatedly looking up disturbing content.
