As previously reported, BofA/Merrill upgraded Texas Instruments to Buy from Neutral and raised its price target to $80 from $64. Analyst Vivek Arya said Texas' strong Q2 report and outlook addressed near-term concerns regarding the impact from Brexit on autos/industrial. Texas Instruments' Q2 sales were up 1% year-over-year and can accelerate to 4% annually driven by share gains, scale advantages, and long-lived catalog parts, the analyst wrote. Arya sees 10% annual earnings growth longer-term as the company moves more production to its low-cost 300 millimeter factories and sees a potential dividend boost in September/October as the next catalyst.
