Deutsche Bank analyst Michael Linenberg closed his short-term "Catalyst Call" buy idea on United Airlines after his channel checks suggested a greater than expected decline in travelers from the U.S. to China due to the spread of the coronavirus. The analyst estimates that roundtrip load factors are running below break-even. If this trend does not improve, 2020 earnings estimates could be at risk, Linenberg tells investors in a research note. However, the analyst still believes United shares are favorably positioned in advance of the company's March 5 investor day. He keeps a Buy rating on the name.
