BofA/Merrill analyst George Staphos upgraded Domtar to Buy and raised its price target to $48 from $44. The analyst said pulp pricing has held up well in light of new capacity additions and Domtar shares are inexpensive. Further, strong Chinese pulp demand has helped to drive tighter North American market conditions and the ramp of new bleached softwood draft and fluff pulp capacity has been slower than expected, Staphos wrote.
