Loop Capital analyst David Miller said its atypical for him to adjust estimates for a studio's parent company so quickly after an opening weekend, but in the case of Viacom's "Baywatch" his exhibitor contacts have stated that they are already allocating screens to other films after the movie opened with only $18.6M in grosses for the standard Friday-through-Sunday window. Miller, who anticipates a "measurable reduction" in Baywatch's screen count by this Friday, lowered his estimates for Viacom's Q3 and cut his price target on the stock to $39 from $42. He keeps a Hold rating on Viacom shares.
