As previously reported, Morgan Stanley analyst Cesar Medina upgraded Telefonica Brasil (VIV) to Overweight from Equal Weight, stating that he now prefers the stock over Tim Participacoes (TSU). He keeps an Overweight rating on the latter and sees value in both stocks, but believes Telefonica Brasil has a client base less sensitive to Brazil's macro cycle and that the shares trade "more defensively."
