Goldman analyst Neil Mehta removed Valero from the Conviction Buy List to reflect tougher refining fundamentals from global GDP concerns, softening Gulf Coast refining margins, and potential Q1 margin pressure. The analyst lowered his price target on Valero shares to $74 from $83 but maintains his Buy rating due to access to light-heavy differentials and strong free cash flow levels.

TD Cowen lowered the firm's price target on Valero to $185 from $190 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares. The firm said diesel cracks have driven refining margins lower thoughte company sees several indications of diesel margins bottoming.
