Citi analyst Scott Schrier notes California governor Jerry Brown yesterday joined with Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de Leon and Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon to announce a transportation bill to address infrastructure spending needs in the state. The Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017 invests $52B over the next decade, split evenly between state and local investments, Schrier tells investors in a research note. The analyst notes that California is Vulcan Materials' second largest state. Schrier is "cautiously optimistic" that the measure can move forward since Senator Beall originally introduced a transportation bill in 2015, which ultimately did not pass. He has a Buy rating on Vulcan with a $140 price target.
