Brighthouse Financial (BHF) should trade at a bigger discount to Voya Financial (VOYA), Citi analyst Suneet Kamath tells investors in a research note. Brighthouse has all of the "challenged elements" of the Voya story, namely exposure to a run-off variable annuity block, without many of its positives, such as excess capital, deferred tax assets and high free cash flow generation, Kamath argues. He believes that if one likes Brighthouse, they "should love" Voya. The analyst has a Buy rating on Voya and Sell rating on Financial.
