Stifel analyst Gur Talpaz expressed his view that Facebook's (FB) "unprecedented violation of social trust" makes the modernization of U.S. data privacy regulation "effectively unavoidable," likening what he sees coming next to the way that GDPR has forced enterprises operating in the EU to address data security in recent months. Talpaz believes that Varonis (VRNS), who he sees as an increasingly strategic provider of "inside-the-firewall" security solutions, stands to benefit from increased U.S. scrutiny of data security, he tells investors. He raised his price target on Varonis shares to $70 from $60 and keeps a Buy rating on the stock.
