Baird analyst Steven Ashley noted ICANN - The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers- signed-off on the proposal to extend the .com registry agreement with Verisign, but said that is only the first step in the process. ICANN agreed to extend Verisign's registry agreement to 2024, but with new language in the contract, which underscores the uncertainty regarding pricing that exists around the cooperative agreement that expires in 2018, said Ashley. The analyst maintains a Neutral rating and $90 price target on Verisign shares.
