BMO Capital analyst John Kim raised his price target on Ventas to $73, saying the company's Investor Day presentation yesterday should address the criticism that the stock has garnered over the past few years, namely that the company is not growing its earnings, not making enough acquisitions, and has an unclear strategy. The analyst adds that while the management's forecasts may turn out to be overly optimistic, he sees the company having taken a "step toward multiple re-rating". Kim also maintains his Market Perform rating on Ventas longer term, stating that the company may be entering a slower-growth period due to elevated supply in senior housing.
