Jefferies analyst Karen Chan noted that China's State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television is requiring platforms that do not have the Internet Audio-Visual Program Transmission License, including Weibo (WB), to suspend video broadcasting service. While still awaiting further company clarification, Chan pointed out that the parent of the companies that host all video and live streaming content on Weibo has the required license. For Momo (MOMO), she sees no read-through from this news, as a wholly-owned subsidiary currently holds such an Internet Audio-Visual Program Transmission License.
