As previously reported, Gordon Haskett analyst Chuck Grom upgraded Walmart to Accumulate from Hold, stating that his prior concerns about its gross profit margin in the U.S. and in digital were alleviated with the company's Q1 report. His sense is that the company is making considerable progress in the U.S. via better mix, private brand growth and easing transportation costs and Grom said he believes the company's EBIT gains in the U.S. will continue. Grom, who raised his Walmart EPS estimates for FY19 and FY20 above the current Street view, set a $115 price target on the shares.
