IBM, WORK

Last night in response to a Business Insider article, Slack Technologies (WORK) confirmed that IBM (IBM) plans to adopt Slack "wall to wall," Piper Sandler analyst Brent Bracelin tells investors in a research note. While this expansion might not have a material uplift to estimated billings growth of 40.6% year-over-year in the January quarter given contract terms and tough comparisons, additional proof points of wall-to-wall adoption of Slack in large enterprises like IBM, Oracle, SiriusXM, and CapitalOne could elevate the value of Slack as a strategic cloud software asset, contends the analyst. The analyst would look to get more aggressive on the shares after the earnings report in early March, noting Slack's growth should begin to stabilize in 2020. He maintains an Overweight rating on the shares with a $30 price target.
