Deutsche Bank analyst Carlo Santarelli says this morning's press release from the Monetary Authority of Macao is likely to read negatively. The AMCM noted its been cooperating with international and Mainland supervisory authorities to "combat illegal cross-border financial activities and money laundering" and that "China Union Pay cards related transaction will be focused at the initial stage." Mass market trends will draw "considerably more scrutiny" as investors look for impacts from the changes in Macau, Santarelli tells investors in a research note. He has Buy ratings on Wynn Resorts (WYNN) and MGM Resorts (MGM) and a Hold rating on Las Vegas Sands (LVS).
