Vertical Research analyst Brian Konigsberg initiated XPO Logistics with a Buy and a $60 price target. The analyst said his work indicates we are at or near a truckload utilization trough, which history suggests should favor positioning in asset-light companies. However, valuation upside since year-end, a pick up in deal activity and a transitioning competitive landscape in the asset-light arena, leads him to reshuffle a bit. Konigsberg recommends companies with special situations and unrealized earnings power that is set to be "unleashed."
