As previously reported, Longbow downgraded U.S. Steel to Neutral from Buy. Analyst Chris Olin said there is limited visibility into flat rolled sheet pricing following Trump's comments on steel import tariffs and automotive demand concerns. Given recent U.S. Steel strength and slightly less bullish integrated steel producer catalysts, the analyst can no longer recommend shares and now expects mini-mills to outperform the group.
