Euronet shares offer 'nice entry point,' says Piper Jaffray
Piper Jaffray analyst Jason Deleeuw says Euronet Worldwide (EEFT) shares at current levels undervalue the company's "attractive growth profile" and overstates economic risks around the Wal-Mart (WMT) money transfer contract renewal. The analyst views the economic renewal risk as manageable and reiterates an Overweight rating on the name with a $97 price target.

Target risk/reward compelling ahead of investor day, says Piper Jaffray
Piper Jaffray analyst Sean Naughton says Target's (TGT) risk/reward is "compelling" ahead of the company's investor day. The stock, trading at a 21% discount to most direct peer Wal-Mart (WMT), is pricing in much of the near-term downside, Naughton tells investors in a research note. Target is "under-loved" and remains a "great brand with good assets and strong free cash flow," the analyst contends. He keeps an Overweight rating on the shares with an $83 price target.

Wal-Mart Q4 comps estimate lowered further below consensus at Cleveland Research
Cleveland Research analyst Scott Bender said Wal-Mart sales appear to have slowed further in January to finish Q4, and also belives sales slowed in December compared to the start of the quarter. As a result, Bender lowered Wal-Mart's Q4 US comp estimate further below consensus to up .7% from 1%, compared to consensus of up 1.4%, and lowered Q4 earnings estimate to $1.29 versus consensus of $1.30. The analyst has a Neutral rating on Wal-Mart shares.

Macy's merger with Amazon logical, but unlikely, says Cowen
Cowen analyst Oliver Chen believes Macy's (M) will remain in "special situations" mode for the foreseeable future as new incremental buyers will likely be looking for a deal. Chen believes a theoretical tie-up of Amazon.com (AMZN) and Macy's makes logical sense strategically, but it is highly unlikely as Amazon would prefer to steal market share than take aggressive risk with a large acquisition, he argues. Chen maintained his Market Perform rating and $44 price target on Macy's shares.

Hudson's Bay would need strategic partner to buy Macy's, says Morgan Stanley
Following The Wall Street Journal's report that Hudson's Bay has approached Macy's (M) regarding a potential takeover, Morgan Stanley analyst Kimberly Greenberger said she does not believe Hudson's Bay has the size or resources needed for such a deal and would likely need a strategic partner, adding that there has never been a retail acquisition where the acquirer was less than one-third the size of the target, to her knowledge. However, there are strategic components to a potential acquisition or merger and Hudson's Bay currently has joint ventures with Simon Property Group (SPG) and Canada's RioCan, Greenberger noted. She has an Equal Weight rating and $33 price target on Macy's shares.

AT&T protects itself defensively if Time Warner deal gets approved, says Needham
Needham analyst Laura Martin says that AT&T (T) has agreed to pay $107.50 per share for Time Warner (TWX), which is 20% above last Friday's close, but notes that Warner Brother's Library alone should be worth $30B. The analyst thinks that AT&T protects itself defensively, and becomes a key player in a competitive landscape of giants, if the deal gets approved. Further, Martin expects industry consolidation that started in 2011 to continue, and sees Scripps Networks (SNI) and Discovery (DISCA) as possible candidates for acquisition. She reiterates a Hold rating on Time Warner's shares.

Lumber Liquidators sales recovery pushed out to 2017, says Piper Jaffray
Piper Jaffray analyst Peter Keith said the "most disappointing" element of Lumber Liquidators' quarterly report is perhaps the fact that its sales recovery is now pushed out to 2017 since the company is now lapping its high promotional activity from last year. While noting that visibility is still limited, Keith thinks new management continues to execute and believes sales could begin to rebound more significantly by mid-2017. The analyst raised his price target on the stock to $17 from $11 but keeps a Neutral rating on Lumber Liquidators shares.

JPMorgan sees buying opportunities in Autoparts Retailing
The recent selloff of names in Autoparts Retailing from weather and Amazon.com (AMZN) competition has created an attractive buying opportunity for the group, JPMorgan analyst Christopher Horvers tells investors in a research note. Horvers is surprised Neutral-rated O'Reilly Automotive (ORLY) has sold off this much given its "best-in-class execution and lower weather risk." Catch up on today's top five analyst downgrades with this list compiled by The Fly: 1. Nokia (NOK) downgraded to Hold from Buy at Canaccord with analyst T. Michael Walkley downgrading Nokia after removing revenue from Apple (AAPL) from his model. The analyst cut his price target for the shares to $5.00 from $5.50. Given the recent lawsuit announcements between the two companies regarding licensing agreements, the analyst removed the "high-margin" Apple licensing revenue from Nokia's Technologies division estimates for 2017 and 2018. Further, Walkley does not expect meaningful 5G carrier investments until 2019 and an ongoing challenging macro spending environment through 2018. 2. Dollar General (DG) downgraded to Neutral from Buy at BofA/Merrill with analyst Denise Chai saying higher gas prices and increased risk appetite into more cyclical retail stocks could weigh on the dollar store sector. The analyst lowered her price target to $81 from $87. 3. Zillow (Z, ZG) downgraded to Equal Weight from Overweight at Morgan Stanley with analyst Brian Nowak citing valuation. 4. GameStop (GME) downgraded to Neutral from Outperform at Macquarie with analyst Ben Schachter saying GameStop is "fighting" to diversify into new businesses as the core console game industry faces challenges and does not confidence that the company, or anyone can accurately forecast 2017 console market growth. Additionally, the analyst is more cautious on GameStop's near-term outlook due to lack of management credibility following recent revenue misses, concerns on used game demand if new games do not rebound, uncertain cash flow, growing Amazon (AMZN) competition, and limited insider buying. The analyst lowered his price target to $23 from $27. 5. Advance Auto Parts (AAP) was downgraded to Neutral from Buy while Ritchie Bros.
