CSC selloff yesterday a buying opportunity, says Citi
Citi analyst Ashwin Shirvaikar recommends using the 6% selloff yesterday in shares of CSC (CSC) as a buying opportunity. The analyst expects investor interest to pick up as the process to close the merger with HP Enterprise's (HPE) Enterprise Services business wraps up during fiscal Q4. Among the reasons investors citied for the selloff were technical factors, President Trump's federal hiring freeze, Shirvaikar tells investors in a research note. He views CSC's current valuation as attractive and keeps a Buy rating on the name with a $70 price target.

Craig-Hallum analyst Richard Shannon raised his price target for Applied Optoelectronics (AAOI) to $53 from $49 saying it is showing "strong" execution within strongest segment in optical market. The analyst notes that the company continues to execute at Amazon.com (AMZN) and is ramping at a new customer, while he thinks the Microsoft (MSFT) decline is not an ongoing issue but rather the result of lumpiness in spending. He reiterates a Buy rating on Applied Optoelectronics' shares.

RBC Capital analyst Matthew Hedberg says that LogMeIn's (LOGM) stock has reached an attractive entry point following the shares' decline in the wake of Amazon's (AMZN) launch of its Chime online meeting product. IBM's underlying earnings quality remains low, says Goldman
Goldman analyst James Schneider said IBM's headline metrics were solid but the underlying quality of earnings remains very low as IP income and lower taxes offset lower gross margin. Schneider believes significant gross margin deterioration across the business indicates the company will need to continue reinvesting to stabilize revenue. The analyst thinks an organic revenue inflection is needed to drive multiple expansion from current levels and maintains his Neutral rating and $145 price target on IBM shares.

IBM has limited upside despite recent share strength, says UBS
UBS analyst Steven Milunovich sees limited upside for IBM shares despite its recent strength. He noted its CFO is calling for an inflection point in profitability and agreed the worst may be over with cost cutting bolstering the bottom line and Watson showing early promise. However, the analyst said the legacy profit centers remain under pressure and valuation, especially the free cash flow multiple, adequately discounts improvement. Milunovich maintained his Neutral rating but increased his price target to $185 from $160 on IBM shares.

Baird sees more risk for GameStop from Xbox Game Pass
Baird analyst Colin Sebastian believes Microsoft's (MSFT) new Xbox Game Pass subscription "further raises the risk profile" for GameStop (GME). The subscription service could add another layer of competitive pressure, Sebastian tells investors in an intraday research note. He believes Xbox Game Pass, which is similar to existing programs offered by Sony (SNE) and Electronic Arts (EA), underscores the importance of GameStop's diversification strategy. Sebastian keeps an Outperform rating on the shares with a $24 price target, but prefers additional pullbacks to put new money to work. GameStop is down 6% to $24.86 in early afternoon trading.
