Weibo content block to have limited impact, says Jefferies
Jefferies analyst Karen Chan believes Weibo's blocking of unlicensed video content in response to the June 22 SAPPRFT notice will have a limited financial impact. The vast majority of the company's short video ad revenue is generated from mobile in-feed, Chan tells investors in a research note. She maintains a Buy rating on Weibo with an $82 price target.

Jefferies sees no read-through to Momo from Weibo SAPPRFT notice
Jefferies analyst Karen Chan noted that China's State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television is requiring platforms that do not have the Internet Audio-Visual Program Transmission License, including Weibo (WB), to suspend video broadcasting service. While still awaiting further company clarification, Chan pointed out that the parent of the companies that host all video and live streaming content on Weibo has the required license. For Momo (MOMO), she sees no read-through from this news, as a wholly-owned subsidiary currently holds such an Internet Audio-Visual Program Transmission License.
