U.S. equities are bouncing off of overnight lows
U.S. equities are bouncing off of overnight lows, with the Dow in the green for the first time in several sessions. Risk aversion is also easing a bit in Europe where bourses are well off their lows as fears over a nuclear event subside. Hence, selling has abated and shorts are starting to cover into the weekend. The DAX has been the outperformer all session and is now in positive territory. Other haven assets, including gold and JPY are losing steam. Meanwhile, the CPI report also been a plus for equities as many see the FOMC unable to increase rates further and will be sidelined for the rest of the year. Recent earnings reports have been disappointments, with retailers including JCPenny and Macy's underperforming. Snap is also weaker. Techs are leading the gainers.
