U.S. equities have regained some poise
U.S. equities have regained some poise after righting shallow opening losses and readily digesting the latest risk events in terms of N. Korea and London. Europe closed with losses of around 0.2-0.3%, while the UK FTSE 100 settled 1.1% lower on the tube bombing. The major U.S. indices are 0.1-0.3% higher without much momentum ahead of the quadruple witching settlement, which can either lock down or exaggerate volatility. Within the Dow the top dogs are Boeing +1.3%, 3M +1.2% and Apple +1%, while on the downside are Goldman -1%, Pfizer -0.9% and IBM -0.6%. The VIX equity vol index is 2.3% lower as a result near 10.20 compared to its again tight 10.74-10.00 session range. The dollar index is marginally lower to trade just under 92.0, while WTI crude oil is 0.4% lower to trade near $49.68 bbl.
