Asian Market Summary: Asian stock markets mostly moved higher. Japanese markets returned from yesterday's holiday's in a good mood, but pared gains as the yen strengthened and Nikkei closed with a loss of -0.65%, the Topix was down -0.88%. Hang Seng and CSO 300 gained 1.30% and 1.05% as of 6:45GMT and the ASX 200 was up 0.60% at the close. 10-year JGB yields climbed 0.5bp, while other long yields across Asia declined and Treasury yields dipped -0.9 bp. Volatility indices eased somewhat, but markets remain weary and U.S. futures are heading south, while the FTSE 100 future is posting a marginal gain. Oil prices are higher with the front end Nymex future trading at USD 59.61 per barrel. The focus in Europe today will be on U.K. inflation data, with CPI expected to fall below 3% for the first time since August.
