Express price target cut to $7.50 from $10.50 at Morgan Stanley
Morgan Stanley analyst Jay Sole said Express' shift to online is proving "hugely disruptive" as comps have declined at least 8% in each of the past four quarters. The analyst sees risk that mall traffic declines faster than Express can optimize stores and now valuations the stock primarily on the online business. Sole lowered his FY17 earnings estimate to 40c from 65c and cut Express' price target to $7.50 and maintained an Equal Weight rating.

Express price target raised to $10 from $7 at BMO Capital
BMO Capital analyst John Morris raised his price target on Express to $10 from $7 and kept his Market Perform rating after Q3 results. Morris says that while the reported EPS of 8c was in line, it included a 2c impact from hurricanes and thus could have been higher. Additionally, Morris notes the comps decline of 1% was better than the expected 2% drop. Morris says the 23% growth in e-commerce supported the better comps, but contends that the company needs to close some stores to offset the online revenue shift.

Express price target raised to $10 from $6 at SunTrust
SunTrust analyst Pamela Quintiliano raised her price target on Express to $10 after the second consecutive quarter of encouraging results. Quintiliano says the company's products fit well into the current business attire and denim trends while lease renegotiations provide additional tailwinds for FY18. The analyst keeps her Hold rating on Express, saying stock has already moved up materially over the last few months and noting potential risks from a competitive holiday season.

Express price target lowered to $8 from $10 at SunTrust
SunTrust analyst Pamela Quintiliano lowered her price target on Express to $8 after the company lowered its Q4 EPS guidance and comps. The analyst says her subsequent conversation with the management also suggest that the company will remain challenged in the near term. Quintiliano keeps her Hold rating on Express, noting potential risks around product improvement plans and downside traffic issues.
Advanced merger discussions between Bunge (BG) and Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) have ended without a deal, Bloomberg reports, citing people familiar with the matter. ADM was not able to circumvent potential antitrust issues, the report says. A combination of the two companies would've created a company that, at least in terms of revenue, approaches the size of Cargill, the report notes.

"This year's Proxy materials seek shareholders' votes on 11 director nominees, two company proposals and two shareholder proposals. Dr. James Cash is retiring from the Board, and Kevin Systrom will not stand for re-election. As Walmart maintains its commitment to an independent Board, it announced Steve Easterbrook, CEO of McDonald's, as a new independent nominee."
FY18 consensus $2.54. The Corporation continues to expect full year organic sales to be up 5%-8%. Including the impact of closing and divesting small office furniture companies, full year sales are expected to be up 1%-4%. FY18 consensus $2.24B. The Corporation estimates full year non-GAAP earnings per share to be in the range of $2.40-$2.70, which excludes restructuring and transition costs. This compares to prior guidance of non-GAAP earnings per share of $2.40-$2.80. The impact of rising input costs is primarily driving the reduced earnings outlook.
